Who thinks Christmas is for getting presents? It is a time to get presents, (dad wrote this) but it is also a time to contact your friends and family. Some people get really greedy at Christmas, and get so excited that they get really cross on Christmas Day. I used to be like this, but now I realise that there are more important things than presents. My house gets stuffed with stuff every Christmas, so it's important not to give too many presents to your friends and family, and not to get greedy.

Instead of giving someone a present, you could just send them a card or contact them on the computer (if you have one). Alternatively, instead of giving a present you could also:

  • donate some money to a charity they like.
  • adopt an animal for them (go to your favourite nearby Zoo for details.)
  • buy a piece of land in an endangered part of the world, to stop people tearing up the trees, to make it part of a nature reserve.
