When we arrived at Broome Heath it was cold. And it was snowing. Luckily, the ground had been soaking wet the day before, but it was rock hard the day of the actual event. Unusually, a lot of the GYCC youth sqaud was there, and felt for the first time how hard a cyclo-cross is. Also, Neil Turner was at the event and raced in the Vets and womans race. Unfourtunately, he was shoved off by Steve Woods of Cambridge CC, and had to retire from the event. He was very dissapointed as this was a big event for the region and he had been in the top 20's. Adam and Clive from GYCC were also in that race, but didn't do so well. Andy Mannings won by a good margin, with 50+ vet Phil Buick.
YouthIt was another day for Cyclo-cross racing, with the frost making a bit of a difference to the overall poisitions of everybody. Zak Coleman fell off his bike twice, and his chain got stuck. Antonio Cappasso also fell off his bike four times, and myself twice. Zak's blog also tells you the story, at Zakcolemanracing.blogspot.com . Sean Dunlea won the under 16's, and Mitchell Powell was fastest under 14. The Videos are below.7
