I visited the Science museum in London, and bought a Parachute flying thing (TOR II). £7.50, it costed me. But when I tested it, it didn't work. It only worked once in seven goes. It's made of cheap plastic, comes with unreadable instructions, and costs a lot. The strings that connect the parachute snapped off easily.Picture below.

On the box the makers (Quercetti from Torino, Italy) make the bold claims:

  • Catapault launch climbs over 100 metre.
  • Suitable for ages 8+ (three and above because of small parts).
  • 50 years of experience in educational toys. Since 1950 we have specialized only in toys that help children's physical and intellectual development while stimulating creativity, reasoning and learning.
  • Fun - Creative - Educational

What do you think? Have you bought this toy and just like me think it's a heap of rubbish? Or can you get it to work? Use the comment link at the top to tell me!

However, we have got a refund for it of the full £7.50, and they refunded the postage too.

I think it had cotton for the parachute then. Highly dangerous if you didn't pack the chute properly and it failed to open as it ended up being a missile and could have easily killed someone if it hurtled down on to someone's head."
